Stevia is a small emerald green plant that struck the scientists all over the world for its powerful healing properties. For example, in Japan after the nuclear disaster there was a threat of degeneration of the nation. As a result of careful consideration, stevia was named the best bio-corrector among all the medicinal plants growing in the world, and it was introduced as a separate paragraph in the program to save the Japanese nation. Since then, stevia products in Japan have become very popular. At present, the Japanese nation consumes up to 90% of the world's cultivated stevia and has the highest life expectancy in the world - about 90 years.

In the middle of the XX century, active ingredients - glycosides (stevioside, etc.) have been isolated from stevia.
